Recapping area girls sub district basketball from Monday night. Arcadia/Loup City went up against South Loup in the opening round of the C2-8 sub district tournament. ALC picked up the win 50-17 to advance in the tournament. The Lady Rebels are scheduled to play the #2 seed Hastings St. Cecilia on Wednesday now at Hastings St. Cecilia. On the other side of the bracket Centura advanced past Shelby-Rising City 52-11 to advance to play top seed Maywood Hayes Center in Maywood on Wednesday.
At the D2-7 sub district tournament, Elba got by Palmer 44-22 Monday night. Elba advances to play top seed Anselmo-Merna on Tuesday in Merna with a scheduled tip off time of 4 p.m. That will be followed by #3 seed SEM vs #2 seed Central Valley at 5:30. Both games from the D2-7 tournament will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. Play at the C1-8 sub district tournament was delayed due to weather. St. Paul will face Cozad on Wednesday now with the winner advancing to play top seed Milford on Thursday. Broken Bow is the #2 seed in the sub district and will face Grand Island Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night in Milford. The game will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com.
The start of the D2-10 sub district tournament has been moved to Wednesday in Mullen. Mullen is the top seed and will face Arthur County followed by Paxton vs Sandhills/Thedford.
The start of the D1-8 sub district tournament has been pushed back to Thursday in Pleasanton with top seed Pleasanton facing off against Ansley/Litchfield followed by Burwell vs Twin Loup. The sub district final will be played on Friday.
The start of the D1-11 sub district tournament has been moved to Wednesday in Brady with top seed Brady taking on Sandhills Valley followed by Sutherland vs South Platte.
