Custer Care invited the public to view their new building addition and renovation on Wednesday during an open house from 9am-4pm. The completion of the project will allow them to expand their assisted living and adult care services offered to seniors.
Administrator Jeanette Denson, who developed and started Custer Care in 1991, gave KCNI/KBBN a tour of their new rooms.

“So there’s four different rooms, they’re pretty much the same, they each have their own half bath, and they have a large closet too in each one of the rooms” Denson said.
The rooms are unfurnished, which allows new residents to decorate them as they wish.
“They bring their own furniture, and they can decorate it however they want. They can bring what makes them feel comfortable.”
Custer Care’s lower level also has been updated, including a multi-purpose room to be used for many things according to Denson.

“This room, something we needed for a long time. So now we can have board meetings, we had a board meeting in here yesterday, it’s so nice. It used to be we pulled out a table in my office and tried to sit around it. Then we’re going to use it for a support group for people, for families.”
The downstairs also has an activity room, and closets for clients and staff.
The existing part of the Custer Care building received new flooring, coats of paint, and other renovations as well.
