BROKEN BOW, NE – The Custer County Sheriff’s Office has reported that one person was killed on Thursday as the result of a UTV accident on private property to the east of Broken Bow by the Adams Land & Cattle East Lot.
The release states that 40-year-old Chase Christen was helping neighbors move cattle to safety as the large grass fire approached. The UTV Christen was the lone occupant in rolled down an embankment, ejecting him.
Life saving measures were attempted by Broken Bow Fire and Rescue before Christen was transported to Jennie M. Melham Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Custer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident and extended their thoughts and prayers to the family and all affected by the tragedy.
