The Broken Bow boys basketball team collected its first win of the season under first year head coach Keaton Klimek as they held off Minden in their home opener Thursday night at the Indian gym. Broken Bow held Minden to just 15 points through three quarters and led 28-15 going into the fourth. Minden finally found their offense in the final quarter scoring 22 points but Broken Bow was able to score in the quarter as well and held off the Whippets for a 44-37 victory. Broken Bow’s Dominic Nowak led all scorers with a game high 19 points. In the girls game, Minden held off Broken Bow 48-36 to remain undefeated on the season. Minden led 28-19 at halftime and was able to hold off Broken Bow in the second half to collect the win. Jayden Gaffney led the way for Broken Bow finishing in double figures with a team high 12 points as the Lady Indians are now 2-1 on the season.
