Upcoming calendar full of Christmas activities, community events

The busy holiday season continues this weekend in central Nebraska, with several activities planned for those of all ages.

The community of Taylor is inviting everyone to town for their Holiday Extravaganza, with both the event center and community center planned to be filled with crafters and vendors from all over the state. Santa is also slated to be in attendance from 1 until 3 PM with pictures provided by Lou Lou’s Lens. The first 50 people in attendance will receive a bag filled with goodies from the businesses in attendance.

Visitors are encouraged to come hungry to The Den in Comstock for their soup supper fundraiser. The senior center will have chili, chicken noodle soup, and cinnamon rolls available for a free will donation. Proceeds will go to The Den. Of course, the Comstock Christmas lights will be twinkling for visitors as well.

The Callaway United Methodist Church is having their Advent Sunday service this Sunday starting at 9 AM, to be followed by a potluck brunch. Christmas crafts and a movie complete with popcorn will wrap up the Sunday gathering.

Sargent is getting into the holiday spirit this weekend as well, with a holiday gift wrapping fundraiser at the Community Building from 2 until 7 PM. Expert wrappers will be on hand to add a touch of magic with beautiful bows, festive paper, and creative flair to make your presents extra special. Proceeds will go to the Sargent junior class, and prices are one gift for $5, five gifts for $20, and six or more gifts for a bundle price.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the Elks room inside the Fiesta Brava building in Broken Bow on Sunday starting at 2 PM. Parents are invited to bring kids to decorate cookies and enjoy cocoa until 3:30 PM.
