From morning through the afternoon, the Thanksgiving holiday is a community gathering opportunity for those who visit Callaway.
The 12th Annual Turkey Trot is scheduled to take place, with registration starting Thursday at 9 AM at the Callaway Community Center. The trot will begin a half hour later. Those wishing to participate can earn entry by giving a free will donation, canned fruit items, or a box of cereal.
Also in its 12th annual year is the McFate’s Callaway Community Thanksgiving Day Lunch, located at the United Methodist Fellowship hall from Noon until 2 pm. Meat, potatoes, and fixings will be provided and those who attend are welcome to bring a salad, dessert, or covered dish to contribute to the meal.
