Hungry visitors are invited to the communities of Anselmo and Mason City on Saturday (November 16) for fundraiser soup suppers.
The annual Mason City Soup Supper is scheduled to start at 5 PM and go until 8 PM at the Mason City Community Building on Main Street. For a free will donation, attendees can choose from a variety of soups including chili, chicken noodle, oyster, jalapeno popper, cheeseburger, cheesy broccoli, and potato. Sandwiches and desserts will also be served. All proceeds from the event will be used for Mason City community improvements.
About 40 miles to the west on Highway 2, the annual Anselmo Volunteer Fire Department soup and pie supper starts an hour later at 6 PM. Free will donations will also be accepted at the Anselmo Fire Hall until the end of the event at 8 PM, with proceeds benefitting the fire department.
