A Thursday afternoon case was held before the Custer County District Court on November 7th, for the sentencing of Cooper Brass, age 25 of Broken Bow. In September, a plea agreement was reached and Brass pleaded no contest in one case to probation violation and pleaded no contest to a different case of 3rd degree sexual assault, a Class I misdemeanor. At that time, Brass was sentenced to one year in the Custer County jail in the 3rd degree sexual assault case and given credit for time served. During sentencing on Thursday for probation violation of Count III, stalking, and for Count IV, stalking, both Class 3A felonies, Brass was sentenced to one year imprisonment at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services for each count. The sentences were ordered to be served concurrently and following his term of incarceration, he was ordered to 12 months post release supervision. Brass was remanded to the custody of the Custer County Sheriff for transport to the Nebraska Department of Corrections to begin his sentence.
