Busy weekend ahead in Callaway

Those looking to fill their weekend with entertainment can look toward the community of Callaway to keep them busy. The weekend activity calendar has several opportunities available for visitors.

Saturday in particular is packed with activities, spanning from ventriloquism to face painting.

The earliest activity available Saturday is an art show and silent auction featuring western art and bronze sculptures by Mariel Klingbeil. (Poster at the end of this story). A viewing and silent auction will take place at 901 E Morse Street from 1 until 4 PM.

Preschoolers through 6th graders (and their guardians of course) are invited to put their costumes on one last time for the 2024 Callaway Kids Fall Festival at the Community Center from 4 PM to 6 PM. Donations of non-perishable food items for the local food pantry will be taken, as everyone comes together for games, food, face painting, a cake walk and more. After winning cake and painting faces, ventriloquist, magician, and comedian Kevin Horner will be at the Callaway Christian Academy. Attendees are asked for a free will donation that will go to the Christian Academy. The performance starts at 7 PM after a hamburger supper at 5:30 PM.

Sunday, the Callaway American Legion Auxiliary will wrap up the weekend with their soup and pie supper at the Callaway Community Center from 5 PM to 7 PM, also for a free will donation of support.

Mark those calendars! Callaway’s Christmas Around Town event will be here soon on December 4th. A craft show registration form can be found here: 2024 CRAFT SHOW REGISTRATION
