A social media post that has been identified as a hoax has been circulating social media this week in Custer County, according to the Secretary of State’s office and the Custer County Clerk’s office. The social media post has been circulated in other states, including Kentucky, and has been found to be election-related misinformation.
The Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office confirmed to KCNI/KBBN that this is not true. The picture being shared is not of a Nebraska ballot, as Nebraska ballots have ovals next to candidates and ballot issues. The Custer County Clerk’s office also stated that no pre-filled ballots were issued to voters in Custer County.
The Secretary of State’s office said that the Custer County Clerk’s office has been inundated with calls about the hoax, but would be happy to walk voters through questions or concerns if they themselves were to find anything of concern on their actual ballot when they head to the polls.
