Ansley/Litchfield faced Cambridge in the D1-6 volleyball district final. Cambridge took the opening set 25-21 but A/L fought back to tie the match winning set #2 25-20. Cambridge regained control winning set #3 25-17 and closed out the match in set #4 winning 25-17. Cambridge advances to the state tournament next week in Lincoln while Ansley/Litchfield concludes the season at 21-11.
Burwell fell to Superior in the D1-3 district final 3-1. Burwell took the opening set 25-20 but Superior won the next three 25-23, 25-14, 25-21. Burwell concludes the season at 17-11.
Sandhills/Thedford finished as the runner up at the D2-4 district final on Saturday. Central Valley won the D2-4 district championship winning in straight sets over the Knights 25-12, 25-22, 25-17. Central Valley advances to the state tournament while Sandhills/Thedford concludes the season at 19-13.
SEM saw its season come to an end at the D2-8 district championship played at Boone Central high school in Albion. SEM faced Wynot for the district title. SEM won the opening set 25-23 but Wynot came back to win the next three 26-24, 25-22, 25-23 to claim the match 3-1. SEM concludes the season at 22-9.
Gothenburg advanced to state by claiming the C1-2 district title. The Swedes defeated Clarkson/Leigh 3 sets to 2 winning 16-14 in the fifth.
