Two criminal cases came before Judge Karin Noakes in Custer County District Court on the afternoon of Thursday, October 24th.
Darrin L. Ostrander, age 30 of Broken Bow, was in court for his entry of plea hearing. Ostrander pleaded guilty to an amended charge of 3rd degree sexual assault, a Class I misdemeanor. Sentencing for the defendant was set for January 23, 2025 and a presentence investigation was ordered.
Also appearing on Thursday afternoon was Joe L Flores, Jr., age 37, residence unknown. A plea agreement was reached in his case and Flores pleaded no contest to the amended charges of theft by taking. Judge Noakes moved to sentencing the defendant to 120 days in county jail plus costs and Flores was credited with 120 days already served.
