Ghosts, pirates, ghouls, dinosaurs invited to Broken Bow Friday afternoon

The candy and treats will be hitting trick-or-treating bags and buckets on Friday afternoon in downtown Broken Bow. The sidewalk spooks and trunk-or-treat event put on by the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce is Friday afternoon from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Stephanie Grafel told KCNI/KBBN the excitement for the event is building, “So I’ve had additional businesses that have gotten ahold of me this week. So we keep adding trunks as the week goes on, so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Weather for the Halloween event might call for an extra layer of clothing for some due to forecasted winds, but if events from years prior are any indication, the downtown area of Broken Bow will be very busy Friday.

More than 20 businesses from across the area will have trunks set up around the square, with many more located in the downtown area utilizing their storefronts as treat-grabbing destinations. Organizers are reminding those who are headed out for a great time to remember to utilize crosswalks as safe locations to cross roads during the event.
