Broken Bow’s Molly and Brynn Custer concluded their high school girls golf careers Tuesday at the Class C girls state golf tournament played at Lake Maloney Golf Club outside North Platte. Molly Custer became Broken Bow’s first four time state medalist in girls golf. Custer placed 12th as a freshman, tied for 7th as a sophomore, was tied for 15th as a junior, and on Tuesday finished in a tie for 9th as a senior. Molly finished with a two day total of 174 finishing with a round of 89 on day one and bettering that with a round of 85 on Tuesday which was highlighted by birdies on the par 5 7th and par 4 13th.
Brynn Custer finished in a tie for 16th place just one shot outside the top 15 for a state medal. Brynn opened the tournament with a round of 93 on Monday and improved upon that with a round of 89 on Tuesday for a two day total of 182.
The Class C individual champion was Kara Suchsland of Minden with a two day total of 154 shooting rounds of 77 on both days of the tournament.
The Class C team championship came down to the final group with Wayne holding on for a one shot win over Minden. Wayne finished with a two day team total of 696 to win the championship followed by Minden with a 697 to finish runner up.
