The 2024 NSAA girls golf state championships will begin today around the state. The Class C state tournament will be played at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. Broken Bow won four consecutive Class C team championships between 2020-2023. The Lady Indians just missed qualifying for state as a team this season finishing fourth in the C-4 district meet last week. Broken Bow will be represented by Molly and Brynn Custer who qualified as individuals for the state meet finishing in the top ten of the district meet. The Nebraska School Activities Association announced Sunday evening that the start of the state girls golf championships will be delayed an hour for the Class C tournament due to a frost advisory. Therefore, Brynn Custer will begin her round at 11:30 this morning on hole #1 with Amelia Ptacnik of Holdrege and Carli Canham of Wayne. Molly Custer will tee off with the final group at 12:06 a.m. on hole #1. Joining Custer will be KayLynn Jorgensen of Minden and Julia Messere of Grand Island Central Catholic. Jorgensen was the district champion, Messere the district runner-up and Custer third at the C-4 district meet.
This is day one of the 36 hole tournament. The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow.
