KCNI/KBBN’s Wells named finalist for account executive award

LINCOLN – KCNI/KBBN Radio Account Executive Kristy Wells was named a finalist for the Nebraska Broadcasters Association’s Dick Chapin Radio Account Executive of the Year award.

Wells was one of three finalists from Nebraska in 2024, along with NRG Media’s Josh Land and Walnut Media’s Barry Reker. The three were honored at the keynote luncheon held Wednesday afternoon (August 7), with Reker being named the winner of the award.

Named after radio legend Richard Chapin, a 1972 NBA Hall of Fame inductee, the award was established to acknowledge a radio account executive based on proven behaviors that have led to success for their company and their clients. Nominees should be seen as among the most valued salespeople at their SEU, and should also be seen by many of their clients as their most valued and trusted advertising representative.

“We’re all so proud of Kristy and the awesome relationships she has built with so many community business owners. We might employ Kristy, but her customers know that she works for them,” said Jeremy Shipe, Station Manager at KCNI/KBBN.

Wells recently celebrated her 10th Anniversary at KCNI/KBBN in May.
