The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams traveled to Ogallala on Saturday and hosted McCook on Sunday.
The Bow juniors went 2-0 over the weekend to improve their overall record to 7-7. On Saturday the juniors had an offensive explosion scoring 21 runs on 14 hits highlighted by an 11 run 2nd inning to defeat Ogallala 21-6. Dominic Nowak finished 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Drew Ellis was 2 for 5 with two doubles, 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI. Kayden Record was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI and Kanzas Kellum had a multi hit game finishing 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 4 RBI. On Sunday, the Bow juniors scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th for a walk off 5-4 win over McCook. Dominic Nowak and Caenyn Priest each had multi hit games for Broken Bow.
The Bow seniors collected a big Mid Nebraska league win over Ogallala Saturday. Broken Bow trailed 2-1 after six innings but erupted for 6 runs in the 7th and held on for a 7-6 win. Max Denson was 3 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI. Eli Coble had a triple and drove in 3 runs. On Sunday, Bow overcame an early 5-0 deficit to claim a 17-9 victory in six inning on the 8 run rule after five. Bow scored 5 runs in the third and six runs in the fourth to take control of the game. Coy Wardyn was 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Eli Coble was 3 for 4 with 4 runs scored. Max Denson was 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. Zach Loy was 2 for 3 including a triple, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. Bow seniors are now 9-3 on the season.
The two teams will play at Gothenburg on Tuesday. The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.
