Felony Cases Heard in Custer County Court

BROKEN BOW, NE – Custer County Court was in session on Monday, June 3rd, with Judge Tami Schendt presiding.

Marlon Cucul-Tzin, age 22 of Broken Bow, also was in court for his first appearance. He is charged with assault by strangulation, a Class IIIA felony, and 3rd degree domestic assault, a Class I misdemeanor. His cases were continued.

Elijah Conner, age 19 of Ord, was in court on three charges after being arrested on Friday. Conner is charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault, class II felonies, and one count of first degree false imprisonment, a class IIIA felony. The sexual assault charges each hold a maximum penalty of fifty years imprisonment and a minimum penalty of one year imprisonment. The false imprisonment charge holds a maximum penalty of three years imprisonment and eighteen months post-release supervision or ten thousand dollar fine or both and a minimum penalty of no imprisonment and nine months post-release supervision if imprisonment is imposed. Conner was appointed a public defender who was heard on a bond review. Conner’s bond was reduced from $50,000 with a 10% privilege to $25,000 with a 10% privilege in addition to a no contact order remaining.

Ronald Countee, age 69 of Sargent, after the state and defense agreed to a request for reduced bond, had his bond reduced to $20,000 with a 10% privilege. His case, with charges of 1st degree sexual assault and abuse of a vulnerable adult, was continued to June 24.
