
It will be a big all star weekend for several area athletes. Brice Chaplin of Broken Bow will compete in Saturday’s Shrine Bowl. The 66th annual high school football showcase will take place at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium on the campus of the University of Nebraska—Kearney. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. kickoff.

Saturday’s football game is scheduled to kick off at noon central time from Bearcat Stadium in Scottsbluff. The volleyball match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. central at West Nebraska CC

On Sunday, the Mr. and Miss Basketball Kearney All Star basketball games are scheduled to take place at UNK with the girls game scheduled to tip at 6:30 with the boys game to follow at 7:45. MaKinley Tobey and Halle McCaslin of Broken Bow will play in the girls all star game and will suit up for the red team. Riley Marsh of Anselmo-Merna and Mikah O’Neill of SEM will play for the blue team.
In the boys game, Trey Connell and Cache Gracey of South Loup have been selected. The South Loup duo will suit up for the blue team along with Trey VanSlyke of Arcadia/Loup City. Monty Brooks-Fullmer of Cozad and Wryder Svoboda of Burwell will be among those playing for the red team.
