BROKEN BOW- With the summer months here, the Broken Bow Library has lots going on, especially in June.
The 2024 Summer Reading Program continues through June with the theme “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” On Tuesdays at 10 a.m., 3rd-5th graders are invited to learn about fables, oceans, traveling, and backyards. On Thursdays at 10, 5-year-olds to 2nd graders are invited to learn about folktales, sea creatures, vacation, and gardening. On Fridays at 10, newborns to 4-year-olds are invited to learn about fairy tales, fish, road trips, and bugs. Weekly prizes will be given out as well as big prizes at the end of the summer reading program.
Also continuing through June are the special speakers for newborns to 5th graders. Starting at 10 a.m., on June 5, the Crane River Theater will present Beauty and the Beast. On June 12, Chris Sayre will present British Isle and Irish Sampler. On June 19, Paul Siebert will present Echoes of an Era. And on June 26, Colleen with 4-H will present.
On June 13, the Read & Bleed blood drive will go on at the library from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. All donors will be entered into a drawing to win a family fun four-pack to Worlds of Fun.
On June 20, Paint Paradise On-The-Go will be at the library from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. To sign up, stop at the library before June 20. There will be a $10 deposit, which will go towards the purchase of your item. All items will be first come, first serve.
The Take a Break Book Club will meet at noon on June 25. They will discuss the book None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell, which is available at the library.
Throughout June there will be a scavenger hunt in the library. To participate, head to the front desk and ask for a scavenger hunt sheet. When you are done with the scavenger hunt turn your sheet in to the front desk and claim your prize.
Every Wednesday in June, join the Custer County Ralkers, a free walking club. Check-in at the library at 4 and walk at least a mile. For more information check out the Ralkers Facebook Page or contact the library at (308) 872-2927.
