The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams each picked up wins against Overton Wednesday night at Paul Brown Field.
The Bow juniors collected their first win of the season with a 10-2 win in five innings. Dominic Nowak gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and struck out six in 4 1/3 innings to pick up the win. Colton Uhlig helped lead the offense finishing 2 for 2 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Logan Bell drove in two runs while Dominic Nowak, Drew Ellis, and Kayden Record each had two runs scored. It’s the first win of the season for the Bow juniors who are now 1-1 on the season.
The Bow seniors improved to 2-0 on the season with a 15-0 win against Overton in three innings. There was just one hit in the game which came off the bat of Broken Bow’s Dominic Nowak in the third inning. The Bow seniors took advantage of 14 walks surrendered by Overton pitching nine of which occurred in the first inning where Broken Bow scored 11 runs. Coy Wardyn and Owen Hartman threw a combined no hitter in the three inning affair. Wardyn started the game throwing two perfect innings and striking out two. Hartman threw one inning of relief walking one and striking out two. Broken Bow will host Alliance, St. Paul, and Imperial for the Seniors Early Bird Classic this Memorial Day weekend at Paul Brown Field.
