City Council Discussing Mobile Food Vendors and Mandatory Trash Removal Fees

BROKEN BOW – The City of Broken Bow is holding a special meeting for the elected City Official Workshop at 4:00 p.m. and its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The Elected City Official Workshop is being hosted by Vacanti Municipal Consulting Services, LLC, and will go into depth about what the jobs are of elected city employees and will allow the employees to ask questions.

The City Council meeting agenda holds a lengthy agenda starting with the approval of the January 23, 2024 council meeting and the approval to pay bills.

Under other communication, discussed will be No Parking – Callie Drive and City Administrator Updates. There will also be a pinning of Broken Bow’s Police Sergeant.

Under new business, the council will have consideration of partnering with the Olson Group for health insurance. Resolution 2024-01, City of Broken Bow and Nebraska DOT agreement No. XL2327 – a Municipality Financial Agreement between the City of Broken Bow and Nebraska DOT to proceed with the Highway 2 project through City limits. There will also be the consideration of opening a public hearing regarding Ordinance 1275, Mandatory Trash Removal Fees, and the consideration of waiving the three readings of Ordinance 1275 which was postponed at the January 23 meeting. The Council will also have the consideration of opening a public hearing regarding Ordinance 1276, providing rules and regulations governing mobile food vendors, and the Council will also have the consideration of waving two readings or Ordiance 1276. Following this, the council will have consideration of approving Ordinance 1276.

The last discussion item includes levied property tax exemptions on the City of Broken Bow Properties.
