The NSAA girls district wrestling championships took place across the state on Friday. The top four in each weight class from each district qualified for the state wrestling championships next week in Omaha.
Broken Bow hosted the District 4 tournament. Wrestlers from the KCNI/KBBN coverage area who qualified for the state tournament included:
Abby Negley of Gothenburg district champion at 105 lbs.
Marianne Zuniga of Sandhills Valley 4th at 115 lbs.
Saije Phelps of Sandhills Valley runner up at 120 lbs.
Ellie Scoville of SEM 3rd at 140 lbs.
Mariah Duran of Sandhills Valley 3rd at 155 lbs.
Ansley/Litchfield and Arcadia/Loup City were among the competing teams at the District 2 tournament in York. Morgan Hawkins of Ansley/Litchfield qualified for state. Hawkins was the district runner up at 235 lbs.
