The Broken Bow wrestling team competed at the Norm Manstedt Invitational in Columbus over the weekend. The Indians would finish fifth in the team standings. York was the team champion with Columbus High finishing runner-up. Broken Bow would place five wrestlers in the top four of their weight class. Chauncey Watson placed 4th at 120 lbs. Will Moninger finished 4th at 150 lbs. Dakota Baum was runner-up at 157 lbs. Max Denson was runner-up at 190 lbs. and Cal Wells was the champion at 215.

Several area wrestlers competed at the Amherst wrestling invitational on Saturday. Anselmo-Merna was the team runner-up behind Amherst who won the meet with 197 points. The Coyotes day was highlighted by three individual champions and one runner-up finish. Jadon Wells was champion at 150 lbs. Tyce Porter was champion at 165 lbs. Tayte Thornton was champion at 215 and Jarrett Wells was runner-up at 138 lbs. Among the other area highlights, Arcadia/Loup City received a runner-up finish from Christopher Allen at 106 lbs., a fourth place finish from Logan Spotanski at 132 lbs. , and a fourth place finish from Joseph Ducker at 157. South Loup’s Dawson Mason was champion at 132 lbs . Other top four finishes for the Bobcats included Josiah Coleman 3rd at 106, and Dawson Doggett was runner-up at 190 lbs. Maddox Jones of SEM was the champion at 175 lbs. and SEM’s Clayton Scoville was third at 113 lbs. Ansley/Litchfield placed two wrestlers in the top four of their weight class. Dillon Haines was 4th at 144 lbs. and Andy Cash was 4th at 285.
