Custer County -Charles Fisher, age 58 of Broken Bow, appeared for sentencing after being found guilty of criminal attempt, a class IV felony. The charge stems from Fisher’s failure to register his address in the sex offender registry. Both the State and Fisher’s attorney were in favor of following the plea agreement and suggestion for a sentence of probation. Both cited that the Pre-Sentence Investigation found Fisher to be correctly filing all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion and that he was going above and beyond to do all asked of him. Judge Noaked sentenced Fisher to one year of probation.
Lex J McDaniel, age 56 of Sargent, appeared after filing a motion to life a no-contact order. The no-contact order is part of McDaniel’s bond on charges he pled not guilty to, including resisting arrest, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats, and child abuse. Judge Noaked rejected the modifying of the bond. McDaniel’s is scheduled for pretrial on the alleged charges on January 18 and trial on February 12, 2023.
