ANSELMO – The Anselmo Village Library is looking to get an ADA-compliant makeover with a public works facilities grant-funded project.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development awarded Anselmo a total of $442,330 which will include ADA-compliant restrooms and entrances, and a newly renovated kitchen space. $407,330 will go for project costs, $25,000 for grant administration, and $10,000 for construction management services. Anselmo is providing $40,733 in matching funds towards the project.

Anselmo Village Chairman Tanyor Gilligan spoke about the library and how it serves the community.

“We are gathered here today to celebrate a groundbreaking for a $442,330 Anselmo Public works facilities grant-funded project, located at the Anselmo Village Library,” said Gilligan. “The Library serves as the community’s gathering and meeting place, hosting several events including funerals, community potlucks, and private parties.”

The framing for the kitchen was poured earlier this week.
