BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow City Council held its first and last meeting of December on Tuesday night.
Councilmen Luke Wassom and Chris Myers were not present but their absence was excused.
The Council started by approving the minutes of the November 28 meeting, approval of bills as posted, and approving the newest member of the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department, Daniel Stole.
The Council had the consideration of approving the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Broken Bow and the Broken Bow Township for shared equipment and services.
The Council also had consideration of partnering with Vacanti Consulting Services, which will provide consulting services, project and fundraising assistance, and temporary staffing.
Al Vacanti with Vacanti Municipal Consulting Services entered public service in 2005 as city manager of Chadron and served Scribner and Wisner as clerk/treasurer from 2008 to 2019.
The Council expressed great interest in partnering with Vacanti Consulting Services and Mayor Sonnichsen stated that utilizing these services will allow them to be more proactive than reactive.
“The epicenter of this City is in that office, and many changes this year, so we went into reactive mode and we need to be in proactive mode.”
The Council approved to partnering with Vacanti Consulting Services which will start December 13.
The next City Council meeting will be on January 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Broken Bow Municipal Building.
