It is with sadness the family of Robert Alspaugh shares his passing on December 5, 2023 in Kearney, Ne.
Robert, the child of the late Lewis and Frances Alspaugh, was born in Broken Bow, Ne on January 14, 1935. He attended school there and at the age of 17 enlisted in the United States Navy and began the great adventure of his life in service to the country he loved.
Robert retired from military service in 1973 and returned to civilian life. He later relocating to the Custer County area of his youth. He settled at his dream of “the best place on earth” on his cherished Buckeye, south of Broken Bow where he resided for many years with his ex-wife Lynndal.
Robert is survived by his sons Lenny Alspaugh of Broken Bow, and Micheal Alspaugh of Amboy, Washington, grandchildren Nathan Alspaugh and Jessa Alspaugh of Lincoln, Ne, Kaylynn Alspaugh of Paris, France, and Brad Alspaugh of Peyton, CO. Sisters Jean Pomplum of Broken Bow, and Shirley Long of Cook, MN. Brother Roger Alspaugh of Broken Bow.
A celebration of life and graveside service will be held in the Spring.
