Suggestions for Local Food Pantries in the Community

BROKEN BOW – Sally, a representative from Broken Bow Food Pantry, recently visited KCNI/KBBN to discuss donation items the local food pantry is looking for. The pantry operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 and is conveniently located at 1100 South 6th Ave in Broken Bow.

While the pantry appreciates all donations, there is currently an excess of Macaroni and Cheese, canned corn, and canned green beans. However, there is a need for various other items, including frozen vegetables like broccoli and mixed veggies. The pantry is equipped with freezers and a refrigerator, making it suitable for storing such items.

The donations the Food Pantry is seeking include the following:

  • Cold cereal, instant oatmeal
  • Pancake mix, and syrup
  • Baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper
  • Soups: cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of celery, vegetable beef, chicken noodle, etc…
  • Crackers
  • Sauerkraut, beets, canned potatoes, canned yams
  • Canned fruit
  • Noodles
  • Rice a Roni, Minute Rice
  • Pasta sides
  • Hot chocolate, lemonade, tea bags
  • Cookies, cake mix, and frosting
  • Cleaning supplies: toilet bowl cleaner, dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo/conditioner, etc…

Again, this information aims to raise awareness about the specific items needed to support the Broken Bow Food Pantry.
