SWC All Conference Volleyball Selections Released

The Southwest Conference has released its all conference volleyball picks for this past season.  It was a strong year for the SWC in volleyball as both Gothenburg and Minden made it to the Class C1 state semifinals and Minden claimed the C1 state championship.  Broken Bow placed third at the Southwest Conference tournament this past season and finished with an overall record of 20-13.  Broken Bow’s Halle McCaslin was a first team all conference selection.  McCaslin led Broken Bow in kills this season with 311.  Joining McCaslin on the all conference first team were Mattie Kamery and Myla Emery of Minden ; Clara Evert and Aubrey O’Hare of Gothenburg ; Marlee Ervin of Ogallala ; and Avery Hurlburt of Holdrege.

Broken Bow’s Maren Chapin received second team all conference honors.  Chapin finished the season with 710 set assists to lead the team.  Joining Chapin on the all conference second team were Ashlyn Richeson and Taryn O’Hare of Gothenburg ; MaKenna Betty and Aubree Bules of Minden ; Kori Rippen of McCook ; and Emily VanBorkum of Ogallala.

Julie Ratka of Minden was voted SWC coach of the year.
