Ribbon cut, trick or treating fun at Broken Bow United Methodist Church

Ribbon cut, trick or treating fun at Broken Bow United Methodist Church
Ribbon cutting for the play structure Kevin and Joyce Richardson donated

During the United Methodist’s annual Trunk or Treat event, Joyce Richardson cut the ribbon for the newest play structure.

With great excitement, Joyce Richardson told KCNI/KBBN how she came across the play structure after the church had been searching.

“The church was looking at investing in a new one, and I happened to see on Facebook actually, on Kearney Buy-Sell-Trade, that this play set was for sale. And the person selling it was actually a Broken Bow Native. So I made contact with them and they worked with us to get it bought and were tickled that it was coming to Broken Bow. And so a group from our church went down and disassembled it and hauled it back to Broken Bow. And then we had people who worked on it, sanded it, stained it, bought a new tarp, and then the group reconvened and reassembled it.”

The play structure was fully finished towards the end of September and fits well into the space between wings of the building.

Before the ribbon cutting was the spooky “Trunk or Treat” event. There were about 10 trunks that were decorated and lots of cute Halloween costumes.

The church also had hot dogs, chili dogs, and ice cream treats to top off all that sugar from the candy.
