High School Football Scores 9/8

Broken Bow improved to 2-1 Friday night with a thrilling 14-10 win over McCook. Broken Bow led 7-3 at the half as Brice Chaplin scored his first of two touchdowns on the night with a 16 yard touchdown run with 7:04 left in the first quarter. In the second half, McCook drove 80 yards on their opening drive to take the lead 10-7. Broken Bow immediately responded answering with a 65 yard touchdown drive capped off by a Brice Chaplin 2 yard touchdown run with 11:56 left in the 4th quarter. The Indians were driving late in the game but were held on 4th down with under three minutes to play. McCook had one last chance to put together a game winning drive but Cash Watson intercepted a Canyon Hosick pass inside the Bow ten yard line with ten seconds left to preserve the win. Broken Bow goes on the road next week to face O’Neill.

In the KBBN area 8 man game of the week, Sandhills/Thedford improved to 3-0 knocking off Twin Loup 46-28. Kyle Cox led the way for the victorious Knights rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns. Twin Loup scored on touchdown runs by David Switzer, Quincey Ryker, Luqman Harris, and Clayton Hazen. Sandhills/Thedford travels to Arnold next Friday for a top ten matchup with undefeated South Loup while Twin Loup travels to Overton.
