Broken Bow to Host McCook for Homecoming

The Broken Bow football team will host McCook tonight for the annual homecoming game at Mark Russell Field. It will be a battle of 1-1 teams as Broken Bow collected its first win of the season last week on the road against Ogallala while McCook suffered its first loss of the season last week at home against Gothenburg. Broken Bow head football coach Carlie Wells visited with KCNI/KBBN sports this week and talked about how the team was able to regain its confidence after the season opening loss to #1 Boone Central.

“Yeah I felt like our kids were more confident in what we were doing.  In every aspect of it.  I think they’re a little more confident after they had seen the score of Boone Central and Aurora.  Boone Central is a a really good team with 17-18 seniors.  You know if we just limit our mistakes we can compete with anybody”

Tonight’s game between Broken Bow and McCook will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and on kcni1280.com.  Coverage begins with the Custer Federal State Bank pregame show at 6 with the kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
