Broken Bow Boys Win Cozad CC Invite Team Title

Cozad hosted its annual cross country invitational on Saturday. Broken Bow claimed the boys team championship with Holdrege second and McCook third. Broken Bow was led by Brock Oeltjen who was runner-up in the boys race in a time of 18:04. The boys individual champion was Josiah Wilkinson of McCook in a winning time of 17:51. Jackson Hansen of Broken Bow placed 4th overall in a time of 18:20. Asher Jensen placed 13th for the Indians and Tallen Harrold also placed in the top 20 finishing 19th overall. South Loup placed two runners in the top 20 as Logan Recoy placed 5th overall in a time of 18:27 and Josiah Coleman finished 17th. Other top area finishers included Shank Sall of Cozad 7th and Keith Morash of Sandhills Valley was 20th.

Broken Bow finished in a tie for third in the girls team standings. McCook was the girls team champion. The girls individual champion was Lindee Henning of Ogallala in a winning time of 20:01. Broken Bow was led by Ashlyn Schauda who placed 6th in a time of 22:15. Broken Bow placed five total in the top twenty. Gaby Staples was 12th followed by Jaycee Staples in 13th. Maydee Guevara was 16th and Rylie Wistisen was 17th. South Loup placed two runners in the top ten. Ivy Tullis was 9th (22:40) and Ella Cool placed 10th (22:52). Other top area finishers included Crystal Hernandez of Cozad 24th and Ali Trimble of Sandhills Valley was 26th.
