High School Football Scores 9/1

Broken Bow collected its first win of the season Friday night as they held on against Ogallala 28-22.  Broken Bow got off to a fast start scoring on their first two possessions.  Eli Coble put Bow on the board first with a 33 yard touchdown run with 8:21 left in the first quarter.  Later in the quarter, Cruze Safranek capped off a 51 yard touchdown drive with a 22 yard touchdown run.  After Ogallala’s Caden Rezac returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to make the score 14-8, Broken Bow put together a 69 yard touchdown drive before the half as Cruze Safranek scored his second touchdown of the night to put Bow up 21-8 at halftime.  In the second half, Ogallala’s Caden Rezac broke loose for a 77 yard touchdown run to cut the Broken Bow lead to 21-16 but again Bow would respond putting together a 62 yard touchdown drive capped off by Cruze Safranek’s third touchdown run of the night with 6:30 left in the 4th quarter.  Ogallala would score with less than two minutes left in the game but an onside kick failed and Broken Bow would run out the clock to preserve a 28-22 victory.  Broken Bow will host McCook Friday night for homecoming at Mark Russell Field.

In the 8 man area game of the week on KBBN, Anselmo-Merna collected its first win of the season with a 48-12 win over Ansley/Litchfield.  The Coyotes were led by Quinten Myers and Tyce Porter offensively.  Myers finished with four rushing TD’s and Porter finished with 148 yard rushing and 2 TD’s.  Ansley/Litchfield’s scores came on a touchdown pass from Zach Loy to Ryan Bailey and a 1 yard touchdown run by Owen Hartman.  Anselmo-Merna will host Central Valley this Friday while Ansley/Litchfield will play at Pleasanton.
