Nebraska High School Rodeo made a stop in Bloomfield and O’Neill this past weekend.
Among the area highlights, Jace Rostentreader of Lexington won the tie down roping at Saturday’s rodeo in Bloomfield with a winning time of 12.56 seconds. Cayson Johnston of Stapleton and Zachary Miller of Callaway also placed in the top ten of the event finishing 4th and 5th respectively. Other area highlights Saturday included Dawson Doggett of Callaway finishing 4th in steer wrestling and Carson Cooksley of Elsmere placed 5th. Other area top five finishes included Ella Switzer of Burwell 3rd and Kallan Cox of Purdum 4th in the pole bending. In the girls cutting, Haylea Miller of Merna was 3rd and Gracyn Hicks of Burwell was tied for 5th. Jacie Naprstek of Gothenburg finished 3rd in the breakaway roping.
On Sunday in O’Neill, top five area finishes included Emmett Sortum of Burwell placing 4th in the tie down roping. Cayson Johnston of Stapleton was 5th in the steer wrestling. Ella Switzer of Burwell was 5th in the pole bending and Kallan Cox of Purdum was 4th in the barrels. One of the top area highlights Sunday came in the girls cutting with Gracyn Hicks of Burwell placing 1st with a score of 73.
