Two area teams will compete in the 2024 girls basketball showcase next January. Organizer and creator of the event, Broken Bow girls head basketball coach Kelly Cooksley, released the matchups for next year’s event on Saturday (8/26).
The Broken Bow girls basketball team will face Class B Seward at the classic. Broken Bow has participated in the three previous showcase events and are coming off a 17-6 season a year ago. Seward finished last season at 15-11. Broken Bow and Seward will be the fourth game of eight.
The 2024 showcase will begin with SEM facing Elmwood Murdock. SEM will be making its first appearance at the girls showcase. The Lady Mustangs were 18-5 last year, claimed a district championship, and qualified for the Class D1 girls state basketball tournament. Elmwood Murdock also qualified for the Class D1 girls state tournament last year and finished the season at 21-6 overall.
