Nebraska High School Rodeo contestants competed in Lexington for two rodeos this past weekend.
Among the area highlights, Tate Johnston of Thedford teamed with JT Lantis of Hershey to win the team roping on Saturday with a time of 7.68 seconds. Cayson Johnston of Stapleton and Reese Swanson of Arthur finished third. Other area highlights on Saturday included Emmett Sortum of Burwell finishing third in the tie down roping and Zachary Miller of Callaway was fourth. Cayson Johnston of Stapleton was third in the steer wrestling followed by Dawson Doggett of Callaway in fourth. Kallan Cox of Purdum was second in the pole bending on Saturday and Gracie Pearson of Broken Bow placed fourth. Cox also finished in the top five of the barrel racing Saturday placing fourth while Anna Clark of Thedford finished as the runner up and Riley Marsh of Anselmo placed third in the breakaway on Saturday.
Area highlights on Sunday included Dawson Doggett of Callaway third in the steer wrestling. Jace Rosentreader of Lexington was third in the tie down roping. In the barrel racing Sunday, Kallan Cox of Purdum was third followed by Anna Clark of Thedford in fourth and Sydney Fletcher of Arnold had a top five finish in the breakaway placing fourth.
