Broken Bow City Council sets new EMT fees for non-school sanctioned events

The Broken Bow City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, September 22, 2023 in the Municipal Auditorium. All Council members were present.

After approval of the Consent Agenda, the Council unanimously approved the appointment of Jarred Conner to the Board of Public Works for a term ending June 2026. Under new business, the Council approved a resolution authorizing the signing of the Municipal Annual Certification of Program Compliance 2023, approved an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Broken Bow and the Lexington Area Solid Waste Agency, and also approved a resolution appointing Mayor Rod Sonnichsen as the representative and City Administrator Dave Schmidt as the alternate representative to the Lexington Area Solid Waste Agency.  Finally, the Council approved a resolution establishing new fees for non-school sanctioned events.  The standby ambulance fees for those events were raised from $10 an hour per EMT for three hours minimum to $15 an hour per EMT.

The Council set Tuesday, September 12th at 5:00 p.m. as the date and time for the 2023-24 budget hearing. The regular Council meeting will follow at 6:00 that evening.

Under Mayor and Council comments, Mayor Sonnichsen congratulated Council member David Baltz for completing the national paramedic courses and exam.
