Mobile Food Pantry returning to Broken Bow this Saturday

BROKEN BOW – The Food Bank of the Heartland will once again return to Broken Bow, this time in the parking lot of the Berean Bible Church at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 19.

The pantry will be open until 11:30 a.m., or until no more food remains.

In keeping with recent tradition, food distribution will take place on a drive-thru system; those picking up food will not have to leave their vehicles, a relief for many as Nebraska Augusts can tend to be a little warm for many.

No documentation is required; the Food Bank of the Heartland emphasizes that the Mobile Pantry is entirely free and open to anyone in need.

The goal of the pantry is to provide food to parts of the community where a high need exists, but few resources.

Each person picking up from the pantry on Saturday can do so for up to 4 families; the only request is that pickups don’t happen all at once.

To keep the lines moving smoothly and to distribute equally, those picking up should rotate back in line after completing each household’s order.

Those using the mobile food pantry this Saturday are asked to follow only 2 simple instructions: not to show up too early before the 9 a.m. start, and to ensure their cars are parked while queued up, to keep everyone safe. A flyer is attached.
