BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Police Department recently participated in the “Speeding Catches up with You” campaign funded by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
The campaign ran from July 10 through July 31, and allowed officers to work overtime hours in an effort to decrease the number of speeding drivers on Nebraska roads.
During those 3 weeks, officers responded to 169 calls to service which included reports of DUIs, assaults, careless driving, and possession of marijuana.
Officers made a total of 43 traffic stops, which led to 13 total citations and 30 warnings and vehicle defects. Two traffic stops led to arrests: one for driving under the influence, and another for domestic assault.
