LINCOLN – Hunters may begin purchasing 2023 Nebraska fall turkey permits at 1 p.m. Central time starting next Monday, August 14, according to a recent release from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
A fall turkey permit is still valid statewide, however, commissioners have made significant changes for the coming season.
The changes for the coming season include limiting each hunter to a total of one fall permit, a new bag limit allowing the take of one turkey of either sex with a shotgun or archery equipment, and the requirement that all turkey harvests must be reported by Telecheck, the Game and Parks’ online and telephonic registration system.
Commissioners have also shifted the dates for the 2023 fall turkey season: it will begin on October 1 and go through November 30.
Permits will be made available through the Game and Parks Commission’s website or in person through Game and Parks permitting offices.
