LEXINGTON – The 2023 Dawson County 4-H Dog Show was recently held amid the flurry of fair activities as a part of the Dawson County Fair in Lexington. 4-Hers from across the county worked in tandem with man’s best friend to show off the bonds made over the past year of training. Contestants competed in both Showmanship and Obedience competitions.
In the Junior Showmanship Division, Dallee Barnes of Gothenburg was presented with the trophy and received a purple ribbon. Other purple ribbons went to Augustus Barnes and Hailey Jensen of Gothenburg, Lexington’s Bodee Klemm and Bristol McConville, and Cadey Wolf of Cozad.
Josslyn Lans of Lexington received the trophy and purple ribbon in the Intermediate Division.
Cozad’s Samual Winter earned the trophy and a purple ribbon in the Senior Division.
In the Beginning Obedience Competition, Dallee Barnes of Gothenburg, Bristol McConville of Lexington, and Samual Winter of Cozad would bring home purple ribbons. Blue ribbons would go to Augstus Barnes and Hailey Jensen of Gothenburg, Bodee Klemm and Josslyn Lans, both of Lexington, and Cozad’s Cadey Wolf.
There was no agility course at this year’s show.
This year’s judge was Amanda Lott of North Platte.
