Bow Spirit 14U Girls Softball Team Goes 2-2 at the State Tournament

The Broken Bow Spirit 14U girls softball team competed at the Class D state tournament in Hastings this past weekend.  The Spirit won two and lost two during the tournament.

The Spirit started strong with a 14-3 win over Fremont Force Rusinko 14-3.  The Spirit jumped out quickly scoring seven runs in the top of the first inning and added four more in the second.  Jenna Holm, AJ Campbell, and Ruby Russell all finished with multi hit games to help lead the Spirit offense.

In game two of the tournament, Broken Bow dropped a 5-3 decision to  the Hebron Titans.  The Spirit held a 3-2 lead after three innings but Hebron scored 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth for the comeback win.

The Bow Spirit came back strong in their third game of the tournament defeating the “Crush”  18-6.  Broken Bow scored 11 combined runs in the first two innings and then put the game away for good with a 7 run third.

Broken Bow had a rematch with Fremont Force Rusinko.  This time Fremont would get the better of things collecting an 11-5 win.
