School board to talk 21 policy changes and facilities at Monday’s regular meeting

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow School Board will hold its regular meeting on Monday, July 17 at 6 p.m. in the high school board room.

The meeting will mark one of the final times that the board will convene before the start of the school year; as such, a great deal of the agenda will be devoted to getting the board and administration on the same page regarding school policies for the coming academic year.

In addition to the treasurer’s and claims report, the school board will hear comments from the administrator, and discuss board health insurance, the safe return plan, and the various handbooks.

The board will also go over 21 policy changes, ranging from the bidding process for construction or renovation projects using federal funds to the admission of part-time students, to the use of artificial intelligence in the district.

The drug policy will also be re-examined, though it is expected to remain in place for the coming year.

The school board will also discuss the recently-unveiled facility plans and the budget and property tax request for 2023-2024. As always, the meeting is open to the public, and a full agenda is attached.
