BROKEN BOW – The Four Corners 4-H club participates in several community service projects each year, fulfilling part of the 4-H pledge to “use our hands for better service.”
The first two projects were landscape focused.
On April 16, 8 members spring-cleaned the landscape around the 4-H Building at the Custer County Fairgrounds. Natural Resource leader, Lisa McMillan, helped members identify native and pollinator-friendly plants. Club members hope to see you all at the Custer County Fair from July 28 through August 3.
On May 22, 16 members planted flowers at the Merna village park. Kelli Safranek, of the Secret Garden, directed members on how to prepare flower beds and aesthetically pleasing placement of flowers. Members will help weed the flower beds this summer and hope the community enjoys them all summer, especially during Merna Heritage Days on July 1.
