NDOT plans 2 road projects to start Monday on US-83 & US-30

NORTH PLATTE – The Nebraska Department of Transportation has announced two roadwork projects to begin on Monday, June 5, weather permitting.

The first will occur on US-83, Jeffers Street Southbound in North Platte from the South Platte River Bridge to Philip Street. Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for the project. Work includes reconstruction of concrete pavement, new storm sewer, traffic signals, and street lightning.

The purpose of the project, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation, is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.

Traffic will be maintained with lane closures. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. The anticipated completion is November of 2023.

The second project, also anticipated to be complete this coming November, is on US-30 from reference post 164.13 to 175.44.

Wester Engineering Company, Inc. of Harlan, Iowa is the contractor. Work includes concrete patch repair, milling, asphalt surfacing, earth shoulder construction, and seeding.

Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect.

The Department of Transportation reminds motorists to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to stay off cell phones while driving.
