Custer County District Court hears a pair of cases Thursday morning

BROKEN BOW – The Custer County District Court heard two criminal cases Thursday morning.

James Thompson, 35 of Gothenburg, appeared for an arraignment in a case bound over from county court. Thompson is facing four allegations: burglary, theft by unlawful taking of more than $5000, both Class IIA felonies, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, a Class ID felony, and criminal mischief, a Class II misdemeanor. Thompson pled not guilty to all 4 counts, and his case moves to the pretrial stage, set for May 18.

Keile S. Jones, 33 of Broken Bow, appeared in court for sentencing in her case of probation violation stemming from a 2015 DUI charge resulting in severe bodily injury, a Class IIIA felony, a charge to which Jones had pled guilty. Jones had her probation revoked, and was sentenced to 2 to 3 years incarceration, with credit for 46 days served.
