Area Sub District Basketball Results

SEM and Sandhills/Thedford each advanced to the finals of the D2-8 boys sub district basketball tournament Tuesday night. The top seed SEM rolled to a 75-21 win over Elba for their 18th win of the season. The Mustangs had 11 players score led by Bart Beattie who had a team high 14 points. SEM advances to Thursday night’s sub district final where they will face Sandhills/Thedford. The Knights got past Anselmo-Merna 70-44. Kyle Cox and Brady Dahlberg each had big games as Cox finished with 27 points and Dahlberg had 25 for Sandhills/Thedford. Anselmo-Merna had two players finish in double figures as Quinten Myers finished with a team high 14 points and Aaron Bartak had 13. Thursday’s sub district final between SEM and Sandhills/Thedford will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. Broken Bow saw its season come to an end Tuesday evening as they fell to Centura 56-33 at the C1-10 sub district tournament. Broken Bow took the lead at 13-12 in the first half but Centura would close the half on a 10-1 run and then pulled away in the second half. Broken Bow was led Roman Schmidt who hit three 3’s and finished with a team high eleven points.

Ansley/Litchfield advanced to the finals of the D1-7 sub district tournament defeating Burwell 54-25. The Spartans will face Pleasanton in the sub district final Thursday as Pleasanton edged Ravenna 38-34.

South Loup fell to top seed North Platte St. Pat’s 69-52 at the D1-10 sub district tournament. St. Pat’s will face Maywood Hayes Center in the sub district final.

Mullen advanced to the finals of the D2-10 sub district tournament with a 54-27 win over Arthur County. Mullen will face Paxton in the final. Paxton defeated Hyannis 59-33.
