Broken Bow Wins C4 District Wrestling Team Championship

Broken Bow claimed the C4 district wrestling team championship at Mitchell on Saturday. The last time Broken Bow won a district team title was 1988. Broken Bow finished with 226 points and Valentine was a distant second with 152. The Indians qualified 11 wrestlers for the state tournament and advanced nine wrestlers into the district championship match of their weight class. Broken Bow had two district champions as Colton Kelley claimed the title at 132 lbs. and Connor Wells was the district champion at 182. Finishing as the district runner up in their weight class were Chauncey Watson at 113 lbs., Cash Watson at 120, Braxon Rynearson at 126, Dakota Baum at 152, Jack Myers at 170, Max Denson at 195, and Cal Wells at 220 lbs. Also qualifying for the state wrestling tournament were Braylon Rynearson who placed 3rd at 145 lbs. and Ahren Finney qualified by placing 4th at 106 lbs.

The state wrestling championships will take place Feb. 16-18 at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
